For dental practices, this trend has rapidly progressed, catching out many unaware owner operators who have lost market share to bigger, meaner and more innovative competition. This requirement for innovation  in the digital space has accelerated to the top of the priority list. While traditional marketing has long been a winning formula for outer urban and rural dental practices, online search and digital innovation have become an essential piece of the Dental Services marketing formula.

VC Dental are the leading expert in Dental services for the Gosford area for the past 30 years. They are committed to providing outstanding customer service, alongside the best dental care, and oral health education on the Central Coast.

Prior to consulting with Skypoynt, the VC Dental website had seen better days. With unresponsive desktop and mobile layouts, there were issues with duplicated content, website functionality on some browsers which all lead to poor user engagement, and high bouncing visitor analytics.

VC Dental needed a refresh on their website user experience, to bring them into the digital age, and ensure they have a digital presence that would help them not only market their dentistry, but also help them with their mission of bringing better oral health education to the Central Coast

The battle for new patients was now online, in search, and the website needed to be the company’s best salesperson.

As part of this process an application called HubSpot was installed into their sales and marketing workflows. Due to the hyperflexible nature of this application we were able to avoid having to change the Practise Management Software that was being used and bootstrap the marketing application over the top of the PMS.

The Marketing Stack

http://www.vcdental.com.au is a Foundation 5 powered, mobile responsive, Business Catalyst website. Leveraging custom developed web apps, Skypoynt delivered a site that boasts content personalisation capabilities using HTML Liquid rendering.

Throughout the discovery process, we also uncovered the frustration that was being felt by the VC Dental team in that the current website was not very easy to make changes, or add content too. This unfortunately can be a problem with Business Catalyst sites especially if the administration interface has not been customised to suit the clients needs.

To help out the VC team we spent some time understanding the specific areas of the site that they wanted to modify, and customised the administration experience to minimise exposure to code and maximise the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) components of the site.

By adopting a Growth Driven Design strategy for the VC Dental website, we were able to continue to improve the site experience after we had launched. Features have included

  • Emergency “what to do” widget for dental emergencies.
  • Front office team chat.
  • Practice location pages with Google maps integration.
  • Content personalisation.
